GEMMACON is seeking a highly skilled Senior Steering Wheel Unit Engineer to join our Seating & Restraints team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of steering wheel systems, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and ergonomic standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance steering wheel functionality, material selection, and manufacturing processes, contributing to GEMMACON’s advanced vehicle safety and user experience.   This position offers the opportunity to work with the top automotive brands in the world.

- Lead the design and development of steering wheel systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and performance requirements.   - Optimize material selection, ergonomics, and functional integration of steering wheel components.   - Collaborate with interior design, human factors, and electronic teams to integrate controls, sensors, and haptic feedback systems.   - Conduct validation testing, including durability, crashworthiness, and environmental resistance.   - Work with suppliers to drive material innovation and ensure high-quality manufacturing processes.   - Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in steering systems and safety electronics.  

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.   - 8 years of experience in steering wheel system development or automotive restraint systems.   - Strong expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, and steering wheel safety standards.   - Proficiency in CAD modeling, design validation tools, and structural analysis.   - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
