GEMMACON is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Closures Plastics to join our Body Structures team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of plastic components within vehicle closure systems, ensuring optimal durability, weight efficiency, and manufacturability. You will work cross-functionally with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to integrate innovative plastic solutions that enhance GEMMACON’s vehicle performance and aesthetics.   This position offers the opportunity to work with the top automotive brands in the world.

- Lead the development of plastic components within closure systems, ensuring alignment with performance, durability, and safety requirements.   - Optimize material selection and manufacturing processes to enhance weight efficiency and structural integrity.   - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of plastic closures into the overall vehicle design.   - Conduct validation testing, including durability, environmental resistance, and impact performance.   - Work with suppliers to drive material innovation and ensure high-quality plastic components.   - Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in automotive plastics and closure systems.  

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.   - 8 years of experience in plastics engineering for automotive closures or body structures.   - Strong expertise in polymer materials, injection molding, and advanced manufacturing techniques.   - Proficiency in CAD software and engineering design tools.   - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
